After alot of hassle and a very lucky weekend involving tapes being deleted and then seemingly magically being re-written - without any human contact. i have finished my simulated client project. i made a 30 second advert, i didnt want it to be too obvioulsy for bug spray, i.e. picnic-bug-disaster-spray-happy ending. so that is why i opted for the 'iuendo' style often seen in foreign adverts and sometimes seen on tarrent on tv.
The original idea was to have a middle aged businessman type come back home to his semi detached house and park his mercedes in the driveway, but these are tricky things to pick up at 4pm on a friday afternoon in nottingham. so a student apartment on the 3rd floor of north sherwood street would have to do. also no balding man, so the couple quick became a young couple. i over estimated the 30second time limit and for that reason didnt manage to include my original intro idea. i am still happy with how the video turned out and i think the inuedo works well, so check out the link below (because i dont know how to embed on here!)

90 Research
AV Production
I have been looking at some online video's for my research into my 90 second narrative. I am trying to create a video that is a rant at society and the characters pet hates. I want to edit it so that the subject of the rant is shown in the image and location of the character as they say it.
I found an example of this style on video google, in a clip from the fast show-
The clip shows Paul Whitehouse talking about things that are 'Brilliant' but his sentences are cut up to completely random locations without affecting the quality of the audio. This is the closest video to the style i want to also create.

Photo Stills - Direction
Last week we were set an exercise to create a piece of work that portrayed the passing of time using only still images. The created work needed to include 3 audio soundtracks of which one had to be an original recorded by the creator. In todays seminar we watched the finished videos. I made notes about the pieces with regard to how they were paced, their composition and my first impressions. The first video shown was 'Sickened Garden' which was filmed in black and white. The compression made it difficult to see what was happening in the sequence but i think it involved the garden being cleaned!
The theme of passing time was done well in the videos, a few people used shots of a clock or watch to show the time passing. Also fast paced editing was used to show lots of pictures and give the illusion of more time passing. The original audio track that had to be created was achieved mostly by making sound effects for doors opening or alarm clocks for example. I used a voice over for my orinal audio and it doubled as an effective way to show passing time.
